정약용의 명문

정약용의 "목민심서"에서

밉게 보면 잡초 아닌 풀이 없고,
곱게 보면 꽃 아닌 사람이 없으되 ,
그대를 꽃으로 볼 일이로다.

털려고 들면 먼지 없는 이 없고,
덮으려고 들면 못 덮을 허물없으되,

누구의 눈에 들기는 힘들어도
그 눈 밖에 나기는 한 순간이더라.

귀가 얇은 자는
그 입 또한 가랑잎처럼 가볍고 ,
귀가 두꺼운 자는
그 입 또한 바위처럼 무거운 법.

생각이 깊은 자여!
그대는 남의 말을 내 말처럼 하리라.

겸손은 사람을 머물게 하고 ,
칭찬은 사람을 가깝게 하고,
넓음은 사람을 따르게 하고,
깊음은 사람을 감동케 하니,

마음이 아름다운 자여!
그대 그 향기에 세상이 아름다워라.        

나이가 들면서

눈이 침침한 것은
필요 없는 작은 것은 보지 말고
필요한 큰 것만 보라는 것이며

귀가 잘 안 들리는 것은,
필요 없는 작은 말은 듣지 말고,
필요한 큰 말만 들으라는 것이고

이가 시린 것은,
연한 음식만 먹고 소화불량 없게 하려 함이고.

걸음 걸이가 부 자연스러운 것은,
매사에 조심하고 멀리 가지 말라는 것이지요.

머리가 하얗게 되는 것은,
멀리 있어도 나이 든 사람인 것을 알아보게 하기 위한 조물주의 배려랍니다.

정신이 깜박거리는 것은,
살아온 세월을 다 기억하지 말라는 것이고

지나온 세월을 다 기억하면 아마도 머리가 핑하고 돌아버릴 거래요.

좋은 기억, 아름다운 추억만 기억하라는 것이랍니다.

바람처럼 다가오는 시간을
선물처럼 받아들이면  .

가끔 힘들면 한숨 한 번 쉬고 하늘을 보세요.

멈추면
보이는 것이 참 많습니다.
