교회에서 교회론 강의를 진행하고 있다. 권징에 대해서 부쩌가 한 말을 아래에 인용한다.권징을 다스리고 지배하는 권세의 성격으로 이해하는 오해를 잘 풀어주는 구절이 아닌가 생각한다. 징계는 꼭 필요하다. 징계가 없으면 교회의 존재가 유지될 수 없다고 보았던 부쩌는 권징에 있어서 동시대의 개혁주의 인묻들과 구별되는 행보를 보였었다. 카톨릭의 제도적 성격의 교회론이 권징의 강화를 꺼려하게 만드는 상황에서 이해하지 못할 것도 아니다. 그러나 그럼에도 불구하고 교회의 진정한 필요에 예민한 분별력을 발휘한 부쩌에게 박수를 보내고 싶다.
The discipline of Christ consisted in this, "that all members of Christ recognize and embrace each other most intimately and lovingly, and they build one another up in the knowledge of and obedience to the son of God most zealously and efficaciously, and that the minsters of the churches know, care for and tend the individual sheep of Christ, as the chief pastor Christ set the example...In countless places in Scripture, the Lord described and set forth for us this [discipline] which we also have proclaimed so clearly for so many years in life and writings and sermons."
