ἀμφοῖν γὰρ ὄντοιν φίλοιν ὅσιον προτιμᾶν τὴν ἀλήθειαν

This is the original Greek text which is, frequently but unfortunately, mistranslated in Latin "Amicus Plato sed magis amica veritas" and in English "Plato is a friend but truth is a greater friend." However, it would be better to be translated like this: for both are dear but it is a duty to prefer to truth."
